Information for All Parents of Special Needs and Gifted & Talented Students
Both special needs and gifted & talented children learn differently and share a common need for a special focus for their education. Together, these 2 groups are approximately 25% of the Plano ISD population.
A special committee known as S.A.G.E. (Special And Gifted Education) was established to provide an opportunity for families and educators of these children to share friendships, as well as resources in three key areas:
- Communication - through the Plano ISD Council of PTAs S.A.G.E. website, as well as the S.A.G.E. database registry
- Education - through classes and seminars (typically free of charge), and
- Support - through the formation of special interest groups, including ADHD, Dyslexia, Gifted & Talented, Tourettes, and more.
If you would like to be registered in the S.A.G.E. database so you can receive notices for upcoming speakers and events, contact SAGE@harringtonpta.net, or obtain the registration form on the Plano ISD Council of PTAs website. If you were registered previously, but your registration is over 3 years old, please re-register so the database can be updated with your current school, etc.
